A United States
woman was arrested at the John F Kennedy airport by the U.S Customs and Border
Protection. She was
arrested while coming in from Georgetown, Guyana after a K9 unit dog alerted
its handler to a suspicious suitcase at the New York airport.
After
checking, the authorities found no suspicious materials. However, since the
dogs were trained, they tried looking inside the milk powder and packages
of custard powder. The substance inside was examined and tested positive for
cocaine.
The prohibited substance was estimated to has a street value of
$230,000. She is facing federal narcotics smuggling
charges.
