King Shaka International Airport Durban airport experiences water shortage

There was disruptions in water supply at the King Shaka International Airport for several hours due to limited water supply in some areas north of Durban.

Passengers were issued with bottled water at the airport and the fire department assisted in helping with refilling tanks to ensure toilets and kitchens have water to clean up as part of a contingency plan by the Airport Company of South Africa.

Water levels in some areas of north of Durban continue to drop due to insufficient rainfall in the province and the airport falls within the area supplied by the Hazelmere Dam.
