Dr Dre tops list of world’s highest paid musicians 2014.


According to the annual rich list compiled by Forbes, Dr. Dre, 49, real name Andre Romelle Young is estimated to have earned $620m between June 2013 and June 2014.

Dr. Dre landed at #1 this year, largely due to the mega deal between Apple and his Beat imprint. Apple's $3 billion purchase, helped the renowned Hip Hop producer rake in $620 million this year, before taxes. 

Dre's monumental figure is the highest amount by a musician ever. The sum means that Dr. Dre has made history by creating the largest gap between himself and the number two top earner, with half a billion dollars separating them.

Beyoncé came second pulling in $155 million, with her tour, endorsements and a surprise album.

The Eagles came third with earnings of $100m largely due to their History of the Eagles tour.

The others are:
* Bon Jovi with $82 million
* Bruce Springsteen with $80 million
* Katy Perry with $40 million
* Miley Cyrus with $36 million
* Lady Gaga $33 million
* Justin Bieber $80 million
* One Direction $75 million
* Taylor Swift finished $64 million


The rankings were compiled by considering income from touring, recorded music, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other ventures.  Earnings were calculated from June 2013 to June 2014.
