Two New
York City police officers assigned to the 46 Precinct’s anti-crime unit were
shot late Monday night while responding to reports of a robbery taking place in
the Bronx. The officers were part of a group of five plainclothes police
responding to reports of a robbery at a grocery.
Officer
Aliro Pellerano aged 30, had been shot in the back. He has undergone surgery
and is in a critical but stable condition while the other, Officer Andrew Dossi aged
38, was shot in the chest and arm and is in a stable condition.
A $10,000
reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of
the alleged shooter. The reward is standard anytime a New York City police
officer is shot.
