Crew rescued from stricken carrier ship

 
51,000 tonne cargo ship, Hoegh Osaka registered with Singapore which ran into trouble at around 9.20pm last night when it ran aground on the Bramble Bank, East Cowe on the Isle of Wight and left listing at 45 degrees has been evacuated.


All 25 crew members of the car transporter ship have been rescued.

A statement from the ship’s owner, Hoegh Autoliners, said: “Hoegh Autoliners primary concern has been for the crew on board and it has been confirmed that one crew member has been injured and he was airlifted to Queen Alexander Hospital in Portsmouth with non-life threatening injuries.More pictures after the cut.
