The draws
for the 2015 African Cup of Nations which was held today in Malabo, Equatorial
Guinea is out.
Equatorial
Guinea replaced Morocco as host at short notice after Morocco requested a
postponement of the championship as a result of the West African Ebola
outbreak.
The
tournament starts on the 17th of January and ends on the 8th of
February, 2015 with the host nation Equatorial Guinea playing Republic of Congo
in the opening games.
Below are
the groups:
Group A:
Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Gabon, Burkina Faso
Group B:
Zambia, DR Congo, Cape Verde, Tunisia
Group C:
Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Algeria
Group D:
Ivory Coast, Guinea, Cameroon, Mali
Group C
will surely be the hardest of the four. It brings together two former World Cup
quarterfinalists in Ghana and Senegal, top-ranked African side Algeria and
former Cup of Nations winner South Africa.
