Pele in better health condition

Three time world cup winner and Brazilian football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento also known as Pele is doing better and responding to antibiotics, but still receiving an intensive kidney treatment for a urinary infection at the Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo.

Pele,74 was admitted four days ago after suffering a urinary tract infection. He has been undergoing hemodialysis, a procedure that involves filtering a patient's blood through an artificial kidney that cleans it before returning it to the body.

"The only bacteria identified so far is responding to the antibiotics being used. No systematic infection has been identified," said the hospital, adding that he was "lucid" and breathing and eating on his own.

Pele took to his Facebook and Twitter page to insist that he was fine and had been moved to another room for more privacy. He wrote “I want to take this opportunity to let you know that I am doing fine”
“I am blessed to receive your love and support, and thank God this is nothing serious”
