Tail of AirAsia flight QZ8501 lifted out of sea

Investigators searching for black boxes in the crashed AirAsia plane lifted the tail portion out of the Java Sea off Indonesia’s Central Kalimantan coast on Saturday. Rescue teams used inflatable bags and a crane to hoist the tail onto a rescue ship

According to China Asia News, It is unclear whether the recorders are still inside the tail or were dislodged after the plane hit the sea.

"Last night, our divers had opened the door of the tail cabin, searched around but found nothing," BASARNAS operational director for the National Search and Rescue Agency, Suryadi B. Supriyadi told local media.

Supriyadi told AFP on Friday morning. "But the boat above detected faint ping sounds believed to be from the black boxes about one mile (1.6km) southeast of the tail.
Supriyadi said the divers, from an elite Marines unit, returned on Saturday morning to the area believed to be where the pings were emanating from. The pings were believed to be emitted from the black boxes but have not been confirmed.
