According
to the latest reports, Liverpool Legend Steven Gerrard has turned down an
incredible offer from Qatar worth £18 million ($27.5 million) in favour of a
move to the United States.
Gerrard,
34 will bring his 19-year career with Liverpool to an end after the current
Premier League season, after which he is set to join MLS side LA Galaxy. The
18-month contract to move to the US is believed to be worth $6 million a year.
The Sun newspaper, however, that the
former England captain could have earned $27.5 million to play with Doha-based
Al Gharafa, who reportedly offered him $260,000 a week as part of a two-year
deal.
Gerrard
confirmed in an interview that he will play in the United States next season
and although not officially confirmed, it has been widely reported that he will
join current MLS Cup holders LA Galaxy, alongside former Liverpool team-mate
Robbie Keane.
