Terrified Mum grips son as he jumps off bridge

A terrified mother desperately held her son for 20 minutes after he leapt off a bridge in an attempt to end his life. The incident occurred in Huizhou, southern China's Guangdong Province.

Before jumping off the bridge the man was seen quarreling with his family. He then climbed over the railing and attempted to jump. However, his mother unconsciously grabbed onto his arm and held onto him despite being pulled to the ground.

She then managed to hold onto his arm, while he clung with the other to a metal bar, until firefighters arrived at the scene to pull him to safety.
