Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s President fires his deputy


Zimbabwe’s President, Robert Mugabe,90 has fired his deputy Joice Mujuru, 59 ,after accusing her,  following a three month campaign against her by Mugabe’s wife.

Also fired along with Mujuru are seven other cabinet ministers and a deputy aligned with her which include Minister of presidential affairs, Didymus Mutasa, Labour minister Nicholas Goche, ICT's minister and political commissar Webster Shamu, they are all accused of corruption.

Mugabe hinted he would fire Mujuru at a Zanu-PF congress on Saturday, saying those who had boycotted that event had already “said goodbye”

Mujuru has described the charges against her as ridiculous though she released a statement indicating she is loyal to the president even though he has fired her.
