Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo laid to rest as father refuses him to be buried in his compound



Dr.Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, the first son of the former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim IfeanyiChukwu Nwobodo has been laid to rest after much family squabbles.

He was interred in the compound of his late Uncle John Nwobodo at Amechi Awkunanaw in Enugu South local government area after his father refused to allow his corpse to be buried in his compound.

In his funeral message, the Archbishop of Enugu Anglican Ecclesiastical Province, Dr Emmanuel Chukwuma, decried the controversy that trailed the burial of the deceased.

Dignitaries who witnessed his burial included Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, who was represented by his Deputy, Raphael Ifeanyichukwu Nwoye, two former governorship aspirants, Ugochukwu Agbala and Valentine Nnaedozie and a former Commissioner, John Egbo.


Senator Jim Nwobodo’s former wife, Mukosolu Nonyelu, the mother of the late Ifeanyi and three others-Chukwudi, Uso and Ifeoma- was also at the burial. The deceased died of cancer related illness
